It was a pleasure to supervise a group of students this semester, as part of architectural design on the FH Campus Vienna. Students developed their own concepts for the ´Productive City`, where the focus was on the question of how Industry 4.0 and urban living can be combined on the Wienerberg. The aim was to design mixed-use buildings that enable both efficient production and high-quality living space-fully in line with the requirements of modern, sustainable urban development.

A significant step for Wienerberg is the completion of the metro line U2 in 2034, which will perfectly connect the district to the public transport network and thus make it future-proof. The project shows how urban and industrial functions can be successfully combined and, in this way, actively contributes to the further development of Vienna.

An exciting project for the future of urban development!
