As one of the finalists in the cooperative urban-design process for “Glan Gärten,” a new urban development area in Salzburg, we developed our innovative vision for the more than 5-hectare planning site together with the landscape architecture office DnD.
Based on the concept of a “vibrant green center,” the design weaves together existing landscape spaces and extends the surrounding residential areas with dynamic building structures to form a new, thriving green heart. Small green micro-spaces create shared neighborhood oases, acting as arteries that lead from the surrounding area into the new park.
Mixed, active ground-floor uses as well as social infrastructure – such as a childcare facility and a retirement home – shape a lively new place for social interaction. The car-free neighborhood focuses on active mobility on foot and by bike and offers shared district parking solutions.

Im kooperativen städtebaulichen Verfahren für das neue Stadtentwicklungsgebiet „Glan Gärten“ in Salzburg durften wir ein über 5 ha großes Planungsareal gestalten und als Finalisten unsere Vision einbringen.
Unter dem Leitkonzept „In der Mitte das Leben“ haben wir ein lebendiges, attraktives Stadtquartier entwickelt. Der Entwurf verknüpft bestehende Landschaftsräume, ergänzt die umliegenden Siedlungen durch eine maßvolle Neubebauung und schafft eine grüne Mitte mit feingliedrigen Mikroplätzen als Nachbarschaftsoasen – wodurch ein möglichst vielfältiges Wohnen am Park ermöglicht wird.
Ein zentraler Quartiersplatz, gerahmt von sozialer Infrastruktur wie einer Kita und einem Altersheim, bildet das Herz des neuen Viertels. Das autofreie Quartier setzt dabei auf aktive Mobilität zu Fuß und mit dem Rad – ein Ort, an dem Stadt und Natur auf zeitgemäße Weise zusammenfinden.
