As part of the PlaceCity Floridsdorf project, an open call is being organised, looking for your ideas for public space!

More than ever before, the lockdowns during the Covid-19 Pandemic showed us the importance of urban public spaces – how important they are for our coexistence, for our health, as a place of retreat, of balance or simply as a place where we can escape our everyday lives.

But what possibilities does public space offer us? Spring is just around the corner, and the days are getting longer again. The sense of new beginnings, that comes with the arrival of spring, gives us the opportunity to create new perspectives for public space.

The Open Call offers people who live, work or otherwise reside in Floridsdorf the opportunity to develop, submit and implement new ideas.

We are looking for ideas, that activate the public space in Floridsdorf throughout the year, creating an added value for all people in Floridsdorf. These can be one-time or reoccurring events as well as simple construction projects.

Perhaps an open-air cinema at Pius-Parsch Platz? Maybe furniture at the Paul-Hock Park that glows in the dark? Or vibrant hustle and bustle around Schleifgasse?

Your creativity can run wild! The deadline for submissions is 15.03.2021. As soon as the Covid-19 regulations allow, the ideas will be implemented. We have a total budget of €8,000 to spend on material costs, permits and the like. The call offers the chance – without taking much risk – to experiment with something new.
