The Hardwald district embodies a new way of living that combines the advantages of city and nature: the proximity to the city and Zurich Airport brings cosmopolitanism and diversity, while the direct access to the Hardwald forest offers nature experiences and relaxation. It is a home where “wings” – openness to the world – and “roots” – a sense of local belonging – are in balance and where nature and the city combine to form a single entity. In the Hardwald quarter, the traditional boundaries between city and nature are blurred. Every aspect of the quarter, from the architecture and public spaces to the mobility concept, is designed to unite nature and the city. The gondola lift and its stations are the symbol of this symbiosis: they combine the urban density of the new district with the expanse of the Hardwald forest and thus become an identity-forming landmark. The district combines a cosmopolitan lifestyle with a closeness to nature.
The Glattalbahn and cycle path connect the district to the center of Zurich quickly and stress-free. The proximity to the airport is the ideal location for frequent travelers. And nature lovers can enjoy the Hardwaldbahn, the new gondola lift between the center of the district and the Hardwald forest. The Hardwald district not only brings the city into nature, but also brings nature into the city. The gondola lift is fully based on this idea and will be the key link between the district and the adjacent Hardwald forest. The valley station will become a supra-regional hub and the pulsating center of the new quarter. As a multifunctional location , it offers space for a market hall, community hub and much more. Das Hardwald Quartier verkörpert ein neues Wohn- und Lebensgefühl, das die Vorteile von Stadt und Natur vereint: Die Nähe zur Stadt und dem Flughafen Zürich bringt Weltoffenheit und Vielfalt, während der direkte Zugang zum Hardwald Naturerlebnisse und Erholung bietet.
